Can differences in visual appearance be observed with Pilkington Optiwhite™?

Yes, it is possible to see small differences from one production run to another.

Pilkington Optiwhite™ is manufactured in accordance with EN 572-2: Glass in buildings — Basic soda lime silicate glass products - Part 2: Float glass and is CE Marked in accordance with EN 572-9: Glass in building — Basic soda lime silicate glass products - Part 9: Evaluation of conformity / Product standard.

As with any glass, production tolerances for Pilkington Optiwhite™ can cause slight colour deviations between different production runs and even within the same production run. These deviations are minimised and controlled within the manufacturing specification.

In addition, the tolerances on the declared values of transmission and reflection of Pilkington Optiwhite™ are in accordance with the Glass for Europe code of practice 'Clarification of tolerances on declared values for radiation properties'.
